Coming Home!

So we are just sitting in the lobby of our hotel waiting for everyone to check out. there is a great excitement about coming home, but also sadness is setting in about leaving each other. The team has formed some great relationships with the local people as well as with one another. They had a chance to do some shopping this morning which is never enough time with this many girls!! Anyways just letting you know that we are starting our long journey home. Please pray for us as we have to go through customs and all the hoops each country makes us jump through, coming home is often harder then leaving.
See ya all soon!

5am is just wrong...

Hi to all

So I heard last night that it is very cold back home in Calgary with a high of -22 degrees. it felt cold to us this morning when we woke up to only about 24, and probably reached between 33-36. I think i like the numbers on the plus side better!

Gil was a slave driver today and had the team up at 5am... most of the team didn't know there was two 5:00 in a day. Our first distribution site was about an hour NE of our compound in a place called Tororo. It was a quick stop on our way to another site called Cecilio Baez. We only spent about 2 hours in Tororo with no clinic, which was nice because our medical team was able to have a greater involvement in the distribution. The church had a program planned for us, we also did a drama and some Spanish songs with them and then handed out about 150 boxes, it was great!
Our next stop was about down the road about 15min in Cecilio Baez. Here we set up the Eyeglass clinic and the dental clinic while our Doctors and his team went deeper in the native community about 22km away.(which took them an hour to drive because the roads are so bad) All the team is really enjoying the clinics and have some major hands on experience in the dental clinics assisting the dentists chair side, doing freezings, and even extractions. I think some have picked a new profession! We got back to the compound late tonight which made for a very long day, praise the lord that we don't have to get up till 8am tomorrow!

What a Day!!!

Well hello to all...
I'm sure you all thought that we feel off the face of the earth and we did for awhile, but we're back! We just got the internet up and running tonight so i will attempt to up date as much as possible with our very busy days!
We arrived safely to our compound in Paraguay at 4am Monday morning, slept till 9am and started a full day of training and distributions...it was amazing! The debriefing time tonight was full of excitement as the team shared about what they saw and experienced. The clinics are amazing we saw 60 people in the eyeglass clinic, 16 through the dental clinic, and we lost track of how many went through the medical clinic!!! We handed out about 150 shoesboxes so be prepared to see lots of pictures when we get home.
It's very hot here we hit 42 degrees and they say with the humidity it's about 49 degrees. please pray that they kids can stay healthy in this heat, for safety as we travel to the different sites each day, and most of all that the love of God's would be evident in all that we say and do and that through our team many would come into relationship with God!
I will try to attach a couple pictures, hopefully it will work!
Blessings from Team Paraguay...and well talk to you soon.

Getting Ready To Go...

Everyone is getting ready to go and boy is it busy! This is just a test to make sure the blog is working. We wanted to give everyone the blog address so you can give it to friends and family and they can stay updated as to happening in Paraguay!
We aren't sure what our internet connection will be like, but we plan on updating this as much as possible.
Happy packing and see you all in a few days!
